Why you need the 'Facing the Challenge' course
Whatever you do, the future is going to be immensely challenging - And that future is already here!
How can we handle it when people talk like this? 'Facing the Challenge' is an all-new course that helps us understand how people really think, and enables us to respond both Biblically and effectively.

Because truth is just a matter of opinion, people today see right and wrong as a lifestyle choice, rather than a moral issue. A recent survey for Brook found that two thirds of the men, and more than a half of the women surveyed, agreed that
The survey also found that about a third of all the people surveyed agreed that
- Six out of seven 13-15 year olds think there is nothing wrong with sex outside marriage
- Three out of four think there is nothing wrong with under age sex
- Half of all lower sixth formers are already sexually active
- 87% of children of teenage mothers are born outside marriage
- Britain has one of the highest divorce rates in Europe
These statistics relate particularly to sexual morality (because it is comparatively easy to gather figures about this). But it would also be possible to highlight other areas - the growth of violent crime, the increase of dishonesty, growing cynicism about social institutions and the decline of the 'middle ground of voluntary organizations which glue society together, and fit between government and the individual.
In a world where right and wrong are a lifestyle choice and truth is a matter of opinion, Christianity is just your private affair, not relevant to the wider world. According to satellite television channel MTV, five times as many children have experimented with a ouija board as have been inside a church.
So the challenge we face today is:
- the relativization of truth
- the individualization of morality, and
- the privatization of Christian faith
Facing the Challenge is designed to help us respond Biblically and effectively to the demands of contemporary culture.
