What Muslims believe

What Muslims believe

There are about 1.3 billion Muslims in the world - nearly one in four of all the people on Earth. Five times a day, all round the world, millions of them stop whatever they are doing, turn their faces towards Mecca, and prostrate themselves in prayer.

According to the BBC, there are more than six million Muslims in America and one million in the UK. Yet many Christians know almost nothing about what they believe or how they live. 83% of Britons 'know little or nothing about Islam,' according to one recent survey.

'What Muslims believe' is a new add-on unit, written specially to go with our course on 'Facing the Challenge of Other Faiths.' It's designed to help Christians understand what Muslims believe and how this impacts the way they live.
