Dark Matters

'If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, the Universe would have recollapsed before it ever reached its present state.' - Professor Stephen Hawking
The Big Bang had to happen in a very precise way so that we could be here today. Most kinds of Big Bang would only have produced a Universe filled with clouds of hydrogen, or with black holes.
Astronomers and physicists are confident that the Big Bang happened. But there are still many questions that remain unanswered - for example, questions about the existence and nature of Dark Matter, and the fine tuning of the initial conditions of the Big Bang.
