Help using the Arguing about God CDROM

The 'Arguing about God' multimedia CDROM is intended for use on MS Windows® computers.
It does not install any software onto your computer. However, the Teachers' Guide is a pdf file, which requires the widely-used Adobe Reader. You can download this free of charge from www.adobe.com
Can I change the presentations?
Yes, you can adapt the Powerpoint presentations in whatever way you want. To do this:
- create a new folder on your computer
- copy the following files from the CDROM to the new folder
- GNEschools1.wmv
- GNEschools2.wmv
- GNEschools3.wmv
- GNEschools4.wmv
- GNEschools5.wmv
- GNEschools6.wmv
- lesson1.ppt
- lesson2.ppt
- lesson3.ppt
- lesson4.ppt
The Powerpoint presentations will initially still be read-only, because they have been copied from a CDROM. To change this:
- right click on one of the Powerpoint files
- select 'Properties'
- In the dialog box that opens, under 'attributes' make sure the 'read only' box is unchecked
You will have to repeat this in turn for each of the Powerpoint files.
Please note that making changes to the presentation is unsupported - you do this at your own risk! (You cannot damage the presentations on the CDROM by doing this.)
Problems using the CDROM?
On older or slower computers, the videos may take several seconds to start to play. Please be patient.
If you have other problems using the CDROM, before you do anything else, please try it in a different computer. This will help to make it clear whether the problem lies with the CDROM or with the computer itself.
Please check that you have the latest version of Windows Media player installed. (You will need to search online for how to do this for your particular version of Windows.)
Check whether you can play the videos directly in Windows Media Player. If you can not, this may indicate that the problem is with your computer rather than with the CDROM. You can check by navigating to the appropriate CDROM drive in Windows Explorer, then right-clicking on one of the video files (files that end in .wmv) then 'Open with Windows Media Player.'
